Perez, who signed a minor-league contract with the Diamondbacks on July 31, is slashing .500/.556/.733 with five-extra base hits through his first eight games with Triple-A Reno.
Scouting Report
Owns th right type of frame for a catcher in Major League Baseball (5-11, 180 pounds). Is also a solid receiver, thrower and game-caller from behind the dish. Gets into trouble when he tries to pull the ball too much. Does not have enough power for a regular catcher in the big leagues. Is a little too impatient at the plate.
Long Range Potential: Depth catcher with a little upside.
