Diaz locked down in 27th save of the season in Tuesday's 9-7 win over the Cubs, tossing two perfect innings while striking out five.
Diaz (5-2) took the loss Sunday against the Brewers, giving up one run on one hit in one-third of an inning.
Throws an excellent fastball and, combined with his slider, can rack up impressive strikeout totals while coming out of the bullpen. Can also start. Has a tall, wiry frame, which helps create some deception. Lacks consistency with his command, especially his changeup. That may force him to remain in the bullpen at the MLB level. He also needs to gain more strength and stamina in order to maximize output.
Long Range Potential: Talented, versatile right-hander with some upside.
