Fried pitched three innings, allowing seven runs on eight hits and two walks, while striking out one batter in Sunday's 13-7 loss to the Blue Jays in Game 2 of the ALDS.
Fried (14-5) picked up the win in Wednesday's 11-2 rout of the Nationals, allowing one run on four hits and two walks over seven innings. He struck out six.
Owns a very projectable frame, plus a great fastball-curve combination that can be devastating for batters to deal with. Owns dominant qualities on the mound and can generate impressive strikeout totals. Injuries have already been a major issue with him, so he needs to stay healthy and fill out his lanky frame in order to maximize output in MLB. Also, his changeup needs a bit of work as a third go-to delivery.
Long Range Potential: Talented, fragile left-hander with good upside, when healthy.
