Astros manager Joe Espada said Tuesday that McCullers (forearm) will not throw for a few days, Chandler Rome of The Athletic reports.
McCullers (shoulder) is scheduled Saturday to throw 25 warmup pitches and then take a break to mimic a half-inning before throwing more pitches, Chandler Rome of The Athletic reports.
Boasts an excellent fastball, plus a power slider, which combined make him an excellent strikeout artist at all levels. As the son of a former big-league pitcher, he owns very good pedigree for the position. Lacks ideal control, so he needs to throw more strikes in order to thrive in the big leagues (and also to maximize his arsenal). May wind up pitching in relief (like his father) due to an average third pitch (changeup).
Long Range Potential: Quality, hard-throwing right-hander with some upside.
