Cole (1-1) earned the win Sunday, allowing one run on three hits, a walk and two hit batsmen over five innings against the Blue Jays. He struck out six.
Cole (0-1) took the loss Tuesday as the Yankees fell 9-7 to the Mets, surrendering six runs on seven hits -- including four home runs -- and four walks over four innings. He failed to strike out a batter.
Can hit triple digits on the radar gun with his fastball, and his slider may be an even better out-pitch for him. A true power pitcher, he owns an ideal pitchers' frame and can look both intimidating and dominant on the hill. At times, he throws everything hard. That plays into the batters' hands, so he must do a better job of changing speeds more effectively. Also, he could stand to become a little more pinpoint with his overall command.
Long Range Potential: Excellent right-hander.
