Barnes pitched a scoreless ninth inning, allowing one hit while notching a save in Monday's 4-3 victory against the Rays.
Barnes picked up the save Wednesday in a scoreless inning against the Orioles. He allowed one hit and one walk with one strikeout.
Owns a great fastball, and he is never afraid to pitch up in the strike zone with it. The result is good strikeout totals and intimidation qualities on the bump (he likes to pitch inside), so He is a bit of a throwback pitcher. Needs to refine his secondary pitches in order to maximize his vast potential as a starter at the big-league level. Otherwise, he may have to settle for a late-inning relief role. Must also learn how to change speeds better.
