Pomeranz has been shut down for the year due to renewed elbow discomfort, Jeff Sanders of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.
Pomeranz (elbow) pitched two-thirds of an inning for Triple-A El Paso in a rehab appearance Friday, allowing four runs on four hits and one walk without notching any strikeouts.
Has a tremendous arm, big-league size (6-6, 240 pounds), great strikeout ability and dominant qualities on the hill. Can be used as both a starter and reliever in MLB. Can get into trouble when he loses command of some of his pitches, and starts walking too many batters. He also gets hit hard when he's not aggressive enough.
Long Range Potential: Huge, versatile left-hander.
