Perez may replace Jose Suarez when Atlanta next needs a fifth starter Sunday against the Diamondbacks, Mark Bowman of MLB.com reports.

Perez is expected to be available in relief for Tuesday's game against the Athletics with Jose Suarez being named Atlanta's starter, Chad Bishop of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

Scouting Report

A gutsy left-hander with a great arm and delivery, he challenges hitters effectively and can break a lot of bats along the way. When on his game, he throws plenty of strikes and throws a wide variety of pitches. Does not have ideal size (6'0", 200 pounds) for a pitcher, so he must prove capable of pitching deep in games. Injuries are also a concern here. Was not as dominant in the minor leagues as was expected.

Long Range Potential: Solid left-hander (when healthy).
