Runzler agreed to a minor-league deal with Boston on Friday, Chris Cotillo of MassLive.com reports.
Scouting Report
Has an ideal pitchers' frame (6-4, 210 pounds) and the ability to strike batters out regularly at lower levels. Can be especially tough on left-handed hitters. Is a little too erratic with his pitches, which leads to too many bases on balls. Never fully refined his pitching repertoire to maximize output.
Long Range Potential: Journeyman, situational left-hander.
