Manager A.J. Hinch said Saturday that Jansen has been day-to-day with right groin/abdomen soreness, Cody Stavenhagen of The Athletic reports.

Jansen (0-1) blew the save and took the loss Friday as the Tigers fell 9-8 to the Reds, giving up two runs on two hits in two-thirds of an inning. He struck out one.

Scouting Report

Has a tremendous frame and a great arm. His overall pitching arsenal produces big strikeout totals. Dominates on the mound, so he is rather equipped to pitch late in games. Needs to keep his walks total down, and also maintain his composure, in order to maximize his late-inning output. Is still a bit raw as a pitcher, since he's a converted catcher.

Long Range Potential: Dominant late-inning reliever.
