The Marlins activated Garcia (hamstring) from the 10-day injured list Tuesday and designated him for assignment, Jeff Passan of ESPN.com reports.
Garcia (hamstring) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Jacksonville on Tuesday, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.
A classic right-fielder, he hits for average, boasts good power, a strong throwing arm and some base-running ability. Owns plenty of upside as a hitter. Can also DH. Doesn't draw enough walks to fully take advantage of his power stroke, so he needs to work on his walk/strikeout ratio. In general, he needs to improve his discipline.
Long Range Potential: Talented, inconsistent power-hitting outfielder.
