Cahill (foot) agreed to a minor-league contract with the Mets on Thursday, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.
Scouting Report
Has a great pitchers' build and a strong arsenal of pitches. Can strike batters out or pitch to contact effectively, thanks to great movement. Can be used as either a starter or reliever in the big leagues. Must keep his walks total down, as well as improve his strikeout/walk ratio, in order to become even more successful. Is too hittable at times. Has not been able to sustain his early level of success.
Long Range Potential: Versatile, veteran right-hander.
