The towering right-hander may have been a late bloomer but his size, stamina, and velocity have shown him to be a capable major leaguer. Throwing a high velocity fastball that can be a two-seam or a four-seam ball, he is able to strikeout batters if he keeps command of the zone. His slider has excellent movement and he possesses the confidence to throw it against batters on either side of the plate. The changeup can get away from him at times though and he tends to revert to the fastball when this happens. As long as he can mix the fastballs in with the off-speed pitches he is able to consistently mess with a batters timing at the plate. While he does need all three pitches going for him to be successful, he does an exceptional job at hiding his pitches and forcing batters to be onguard for anything.
