The Rays will place Franco (personal) on the restricted list Wednesday, Jeff Passan of ESPN.com reports.
Franco was placed on administrative leave Thursday through an agreement between MLB and the MLB Players Association under the Joint Domestic Violence, Sexual Assault and Child Abuse Policy, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
A five-tool talent and offensive force, this unshakable athlete brings truly elite bat speed to the major leagues. A switch hitter with a powerful and compact swing, he has good pitch recognition and enough patience to find the right pitch to crush. Able to find consistent contact and get on base, he is always a threat to steal bases. Even with his low strikeout rate, he could still improve on tracking the curveball. His agility and arm strength allow him to play any infield position and be successful, even if his accuracy could still be improved.
