Plesac cleared waivers Sunday and accepted an outright assignment to Triple-A Columbus, Tom Withers of the Associated Press reports.
Cleveland designated Plesac for assignment Sunday, Mandy Bell of MLB.com reports.
Owns an ideal pitchers' frame (6-3, 220 pounds) and the ability to throw a lot of strikes. While not overpowering, he understands the art of pitching and has good pedigree as the nephew of former MLB closer Dan Plesac. Can be guilty of being a bit too hittable sometimes, mostly because of his propensity to always be around the plate (so perhaps he could stand to waste a few more pitches).
Long Range Potential: Solid right-hander with some upside.
