RYAN STROME FLIPPED TO THE FLAMES

The Calgary Flames acquired forward Ryan Strome from the Anaheim Ducks for a seventh-round draft pick in 2027.

What does it give the Calgary Flames
In Strome, the Flames get a veteran forward in need of a change of scenery. Usually a consistent middle-six producer, he struggled this season after starting out injured. The 32-year-old has another year on his contract, so he will get an opportunity to re-establish himself on a Calgary team desperate for offense.

What does it give the Anaheim Ducks
For the Ducks, this trade is a salary dump. Strome can probably still be a contributor in the NHL, but he was no longer a fit in Anaheim's lineup. They do well getting a draft pick back for him and retaining no salary.

Fantasy impact
Strome typically has value in deeper leagues, but he is off the fantasy radar entirely at the moment. That probably won't change after this trade, but keep an eye on him if he starts to produce again in Calgary.
