BRAYDEN SCHENN LANDS ON LONG ISLAND

The New York Islanders acquired forward Brayden Schenn from the St. Louis Blues for forward Jonathan Drouin, goaltender Marcus Gidlof, a first-round draft pick in 2026 and a third-round draft pick in 2026.

What does it give the New York Islanders
In Schenn, the Islanders land another proven winner and a versatile forward. They added Ondrej Palat earlier this season to help up front and now get Schenn, who can play either wing or center. He is a huge upgrade over Jonathan Drouin.

What does it give the St. Louis Blues
The Blues got a good haul for Schenn, landing a goaltending prospect in Gidlof and a first-rounder in '26. They also got a third-rounder in '26 and a throw-in forward in Drouin, who replaces Schenn in the lineup but will not move the needle.

Fantasy impact
Schenn will continue to produce on Long Island so he is a solid option in many fantasy formats. Gidlof could have a brighter future in the Blues organization instead of the Islanders, while Drouin is an unreliable fantasy forward no matter where he plays.
