DESLAURIERS DEALT TO CAROLINA

The Carolina Hurricanes acquired winger Nicolas Deslauriers from the Philadelphia Flyers for a conditional seventh-round draft pick in 2027.

What does it give the Carolina Hurricanes
The Hurricanes are already plenty tough up front with guys like William Carrier, Mark Jankowski and Eric Robinson on the fourth line. But none of them are as tough as Deslauriers, arguably the baddest enforcer in the NHL today. He may not play much in Raleigh but he brings an attitude to the team.

What does it give the Philadelphia Flyers
For the Flyers, trading Deslauriers makes sense because the team is unlikely to make the Stanley Cup playoffs this season. After dealing away Bobby Brink earlier, Deslauriers is now off the books as well. This is good news for Nikita Grebenkin, who should become a bottom-six winger on a full-time basis now.

Fantasy impact
There is no fantasy impact here. Deslauriers will hit people when in the lineup but that is about it. Expect few fights down the stretch, too.
