What does it give the Chicago Blackhawks
Pouliot gives the Blackhawks much-needed depth on defense in the minors. He has not appeared in an NHL game since the 2023-24 season, but the veteran is still a useful two-way defender at the AHL level.
What does it give the New York Rangers
A third-round pick in 2023, Thompson is in his first full AHL season after playing college hockey. Since the transition, he has not been as productive, but he adds to New York's organizational forward depth.
