NICK FOLIGNO MOVED TO MINNESOTA
The Minnesota Wild acquired forward Nick Foligno from the Chicago Blackhawks for future considerations.
What does it give the Minnesota Wild
The Wild continue to load up on forward depth. Foligno's production has fallen off this season, but he plays a responsible, gritty game in the bottom six. In Minnesota he also joins his brother Marcus and will provide valuable leadership as the Wild try to go deep in the playoffs.
What does it give the Chicago Blackhawks
Chicago lets go of their captain, Foligno, giving him an opportunity with a likely Stanley Cup contender. Minnesota is taking on his full contract for the rest of the season, so the return for the Blackhawks is only future considerations. This is a nice gesture by the 'hawks to unite the Foligno brothers.
Fantasy impact
Foligno's age is starting to show, and he no longer has any fantasy value. That will not change after this trade.
