The Detroit Red Wings acquired winger David Perron from the Ottawa Senators for a conditional fourth-round draft pick in 2026.

What does it give the Detroit Red Wings
The Red Wings know Perron well, since he spent the 2022-23 and 2023-24 campaigns in Detroit. Perron is currently on injured reserve, is turning 38 this year and is a pending UFA. If he plays for the Wings, it may be his final days in the NHL.

What does it give the Ottawa Senators
The Senators are guaranteed a fourth-round pick in '26 (which originally belonged to Columbus) if Perron plays one game for Detroit. If the Wings win one round in the playoffs (and Perron plays half their games), the pick is upgraded to a third.
