The Avalanche are in it to win it this season. After acquiring defenseman Brett Kulak earlier this season, now they have added Blankenburg for more blueline depth.
What does it give the Nashville Predators
Nashville is still in the Wild Card chase but they continue to sell off pending UFAs. Moving Blankenburg should give D prospects in the system a better chance.
Fantasy impact
If healthy, the Avalanche will likely use Blankenburg as a No. 7 defenseman. Therefore, whatever fantasy value he had in Nashville is all but gone now.
