TYLER MYERS MOVES TO TEXAS

The Dallas Stars acquired defenseman Tyler Myers from the Vancouver Canucks for a second-round draft pick in 2027 and a fourth-round draft pick in 2029.

What does it give the Dallas Stars
The Stars have been in the market for a right defenseman for some time now. Myers should help. He has one more season left on his contract so the 36-year-old gangly defender is not a rental for Dallas. He might become Thomas Harley's D partner.

What does it give the Vancouver Canucks
For the Canucks, moving on from Myers makes sense considering their last-place slot in the current NHL standings. He was one of the team's leaders, but it did not make sense to keep him at this time. Therefore, Vancouver did well here.
