COLE SMITH SENT TO VEGAS
The Vegas Golden Knights acquired winger Cole Smith from the Nashville Predators for defenseman Christoffer Sedoff and a third-round draft pick in 2028.
What does it give the Vegas Golden Knights
Smith is a hard-working winger with size and penalty-killing chops. He can play either wing position, too. As an added bonus to the Golden Knights, Smith knows Colton Sissons very well; they were linemates in Nashville.
What does it give the Nashville Predators
This is the second trade of the day for the Predators, who earlier sent Michael McCarron to Minnesota. Nashville still has a chance to sneak into the Stanley Cup playoffs but are doing good work by moving out their pending UFAs.
Fantasy impact
There is no fantasy impact here, as Smith will continue to be a depth forward for his new team. Sedoff is a defense-first defender who might find his way to Nashville at some point.
