KATCHOUK FOR SCHMIDT
The Philadelphia Flyers acquired forward Boris Katchouk from the Minnesota Wild for defenseman Roman Schmidt.
What does it give the Philadelphia Flyers
For the second time this season, both players in this AHL trade are on the move. Katchouk adds size and some NHL experience to the Flyers organization. He appeared in three games with the Lightning earlier this season but should primarily be a depth player in the minors with Philadelphia.
What does it give the Minnesota Wild
Schmidt also joins his third organization of 2025-26. The 6'5" right-shooting D-man was an offensive contributor in the OHL, but the 2021 third-rounder has filled a defensive role in the AHL. Minnesota will give Schmidt another fresh start, adding his size and physicality to their organizational depth.
