What does it give the Anaheim Ducks
Viel is a tough winger who can set the tone on the forecheck and protect teammates. This is a curious move by Anaheim at this time because they already have a better version of Viel in Ross Johnston.

What does it give the Boston Bruins
The Bruins did well here to land a fourth-round pick in this year's draft for a little-used winger. Boston has plenty of tough forwards, so Viel was not really needed.
