KATCHOUK FOR MILNE
The Minnesota Wild acquired forward Boris Katchouk from the Tampa Bay Lightning for winger Michael Milne.
What does it give the Minnesota Wild
In Katchouk, the Wild get a depth forward with NHL experience. Minnesota does not have a lot of bottom-six forward depth, so Katchouk offers another option there. He will likely remain in the minors, where he has spent most of the past few seasons. The 27-year-old got into three NHL games with Tampa Bay this season but failed to register a point.
What does it give the Tampa Bay Lightning
The Lightning get a younger winger with more potential in Milne. The 23-year-old was a third-round draft pick in 2022 but has mainly toiled at the AHL level since then. Milne has not posted great offensive stats in the minor leagues but could benefit from a fresh start in Tampa Bay's organization. The Bolts have a way of turning nothing into something.
