The Oilers are adding a 25-year-old blueliner who moves the puck well but plays without a lot of fanfare. Look for Stastney to play regular minutes in Edmonton while Jake Walman stays out of the lineup due to injury.
What does it give the Nashville Predators
For the Predators, this move alleviates a bit of a logjam on defense since the club had been dressing seven blueliners lately. Stastney was serviceable but Nashville received good value in exchange for him here.
Fantasy impact
Since Evan Bouchard runs the power play in Edmonton, Stastney is unlikely to get enough opportunities to become a fantasy option. Pass.
