WILD, SHARKS MAKE MINOR TRADE
The Minnesota Wild acquired winger Oskar Olausson from the San Jose Sharks for defenseman Kyle Masters.
What does it give the Minnesota Wild
For now, this trade is about minor-league depth for both teams. That said, Olausson does have a few games of NHL experience. The 22-year-old will get another fresh start and might be able to earn a look with the Wild if he impresses in the AHL.
What does it give the San Jose Sharks
With plenty of youthful depth at forward, the Sharks add a younger defender here. A puck-moving D-man, Masters has split time between the AHL and ECHL the last two seasons. He will try to work his way up in his new organization.
