The Los Angeles Kings acquired goaltender Pheonix Copley from the Tampa Bay Lightning for future considerations.

Copley provides the Kings with some early season depth in goal. Starter Darcy Kuemper is dealing with an injury at the moment, so Copley could be a temporary backup or No. 3 option. The veteran returns to Los Angeles after they lost him on waivers to Tampa Bay a few weeks earlier.
What does it give the Tampa Bay Lightning
Copley was serving as Tampa Bay's No. 3 goaltender, and he did not make an appearance in his brief time with the team. Copley has mainly played in the AHL in recent seasons, so the Lightning did not get more than future considerations back from the Kings.
