OILERS ADD CONNOR INGRAM
The Edmonton Oilers acquired goaltender Connor Ingram from the Utah Mammoth for future considerations.
What does it give the Edmonton Oilers
Ingram provides Edmonton with much-needed depth in goal. The 28-year-old enjoyed a breakout 2023-24 season, but he regressed last year (9-8-4, 3.27 GAA, .882 SV%) and spent time in the NHL/NHLPA Player Assistance Program. He now gets a fresh start in Edmonton, where he will begin at the AHL level. Ingram may get a look with the Oilers if he impresses, or if their tandem of Stuart Skinner and Calvin Pickard struggles.
What does it give the Utah Mammoth
Given Ingram's uncertain future, Utah only got future considerations in return here. They also retained $800,000 of his $1.95 million cap hit this season to get the deal done. Everyone involved needed a fresh start here and the Mammoth obliged. The Mammoth will move on with Czech netminders Karel Vejmelka and Vitek Vanecek in goal to start the 2025-26 campaign.
Fantasy impact
Ingram will try to re-establish himself in the minors, so this trade will not have a fantasy impact for now. But keep an eye on him if the Oilers' goaltending tandem continues to be inconsistent this season. Ingram was a capable NHL goaltender as recently as two years ago.
