LUKE KUNIN TO THE SHARKS

The San Jose Sharks acquired forward Luke Kunin from the Nashville Predators for winger John Leonard and a third-round draft pick in 2023.

What does it give the San Jose Sharks
For the Sharks, Kunin provides loads of versatility up front and can be used up or down the lineup. He can also be used on the penalty kill. For a young team, he should help out in terms of leadership.

What does it give the Nashville Predators
The Predators decided to move Kunin, a restricted free agent, largely for cap purposes (they are still trying to re-sign winger Filip Forsberg before next week). Getting a third-rounder in '23 is a bonus.

Fantasy impact
Kunin's fantasy value is low because he is mostly a role player at the NHL level. There is no need to draft him in most formats. As for Leonard, he has more offensive upside than Kunin but is also a restricted free agent. There are no guarantees that Nashville will keep Leonard. Keep an eye on him.
