LOUIS DOMINGUE DEALT TO NEW JERSEY
The New Jersey Devils acquired goaltender Louis Domingue from the Tampa Bay Lightning for a conditional seventh-round draft pick 2021.
What does it give the New Jersey Devils
The Devils are a mess right now and goaltending is a major reason why. Domingue will probably start out at the AHL level but he should make his way to New Jersey relatively soon. He is no savior but the 27-year-old 'keeper should help.
What does it give the Tampa Bay Lightning
The Lightning have an abundance of depth at the goaltending position right now (even after trading away Domingue), so it made sense to move Domingue (last season's backup to Andrei Vasilevskiy). Tampa Bay got very little in return, though.
Fantasy impact
Domingue could find his way back in the NHL fairly quickly as a member of the Devils, so he is worth picking up in deep fantasy leagues as well as most keeper formats.
