BEAULIEU BROUGHT IN BY WINNIPEG

The Winnipeg Jets acquired defenseman Nathan Beaulieu from the Buffalo Sabres for a sixth-round draft pick in 2019.

What does it give the Winnipeg Jets
The Jets are concerned about their defensive depth, with injuries to Dustin Byfuglien, Joe Morrow and now Josh Morrissey. So, Beaulieu will be a decent depth addition for a club with Stanley Cup aspirations.

What does it give the Buffalo Sabres
Buffalo trades for Brandon Montour recently, so Beaulieu became expendable even more than he was before. Beaulieu was a healthy scratch on several occasions this season, so a change of scenery was necessary.

Fantasy impact
Beaulieu could be a nice fit in Winnipeg, but he will once again be a healthy scratch when everybody returns from injury. Pass on picking him up for fantasy hockey purposes.
