Staal hasn't earned a point yet this season, but he has been racking up hits and blocks.
Scouting Report
Age, concussions and more than a decade toiling on NHL blue lines have taken a toll on Staal's game, though his knowledge and experience are valuable on a young squad. Is still strong enough to win puck battles in his own zone and keep opposing forwards from setting up shop in front of the net. His limited offensive skills are not getting any better with age.
Long Range Potential: Veteran shutdown defenseman in decline.
