EAGLES, JETS SWAP DEPTH PLAYERS
The Philadelphia Eagles acquired cornerback Michael Carter II and a seventh-round draft pick in 2027 from the New York Jets for wide receiver John Metchie III and a sixth-round draft pick in 2027.
What does it give the Philadelphia Eagles
For Philadelphia, this is a solid trade for a player who has a history of quality play from the slot cornerback position. Carter II might start out as a backup for the defending Super Bowl champions, but he could have a long future in Philly.
What does it give the New York Jets
The Jets are 1-7 entering this week's bye week, which coincides with the NFL trade deadline next week. So, Carter II might not be the only player shipped out before then. Metchie III is a depth wide receiver who may still have a decent future.
Fantasy impact
There is no fantasy impact here, as Metchie III will likely serve a role as a third-down slot receiver for the Jets. He may become more than that but he is far from a recommendable fantasy option at this time. As for Carter II, he is likely to come off the bench for the Eagles.
