FALCONS BRING IN BRYAN EDWARDS
The Atlanta Falcons acquired wide receiver Bryan Edwards and a seventh-round draft pick in 2023 from the Las Vegas Raiders for a fifth-round draft pick in 2023.
What does it give the Atlanta Falcons
The Falcons badly need help at the wide receiver position, so adding Edwards at this time makes loads of sense. He will be reunited with quarterback Marcus Mariota, who was the backup in Las Vegas prior to joining Atlanta. Edwards should see plenty of playing time in 2022 behind rookie Drake London.
What does it give the Las Vegas Raiders
The Raiders are changing things offensively this season, with former Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels taking over as head coach. Clearly, Edwards was not viewed as a good fit for McDaniels' offensive philosophy, so he was shipped to Atlanta for a two-round draft pick upgrade.
Fantasy impact
Edwards' fantasy value should improve with this trade, as he is likely to see far more targets as a member of the Falcons. Draft him late in 2022 and hope for the best.
