A.J. BROWN BROUGHT IN BY PHILLY!
The Philadelphia Eagles acquired wide receiver A.J. Brown from the Tennesee Titans for a first-round draft pick in 2022 (No. 18 overall) and a third-round draft pick in 2022 (No. 101 overall).
What does it give the Philadelphia Eagles
This is the off-season of the mass exodus of star wide receivers, with Brown merely being one of the latest examples. The electric wideout is going to help Philadelphia's offense tremendously. He will bookend Devonta Smith perfectly and give quarterback Jalen Hurts a second quality playmaking receiver to work with. This deal is a pure win for the Eagles, even if they had to shell out a four-year, $100 million deal to secure Brown.
What does it give the Tennessee Titans
It is hard to understand Tennessee's logic here. They were struggling to re-sign Brown but clearly liked what he brought to the Titans. After all, they used the first pick acquired in this deal to select his direct replacement (Treylon Burks). The latter was often compared to Brown from a skill set standpoint, so the question remains: why not just keep Brown? Tennessee gets a less polished version of what they had, and will eventually have to pay him as well.
Fantasy impact
Brown was never the top fantasy option as a member of the Titans (due to their run-heavy offense), but he moves to a team with a similar approach (although without the same results). Therefore, the arrival of Brown could open things up offensively for the Eagles. His stock could move up slightly after this deal. Burks' fantasy value is slightly worse than what Brown's was before this deal, only because of his lack of NFL experience.
