GOLDEN GOES BACK TO ARIZONA
The Arizona Cardinals acquired linebacker/defensive end Markus Golden from the New York Giants for a sixth-round draft pick in 2021.
What does it give the Arizona Cardinals
This is a homecoming of sorts for Golden, who was originally drafted by the Cardinals in the second round of the 2015 NFL Draft. With No. 1 pass rusher Chandler Jones expected to miss the rest of the 2020 campaign because of a biceps injury, it is understandable that the Cards brought back Golden at this time. He should provide solid depth on the edge.
What does it give the New York Giants
After spending four seasons in Arizona, Golden signed with the Giants and started all 16 games for New York in 2019. However, he was not seeing as much playing time in '20 for an improved Giants defense under new head coach Joe Judge. So, the Giants decided to part ways with Golden and take back a sixth-round pick. Does New York have enough depth?
Fantasy impact
There may be a few extra sacks in Golden's future now that he has returned to 'Zona. That said, he is not quite good enough to be a good option for IDP fantasy leagues.
