DOLPHINS DEAL FOR SHAHEEN
The Miami Dolphins acquired tight end Adam Shaheen from the Chicago Bears for a conditional sixth-round draft pick in 2021.
What does it give the Miami Dolphins
This move seems like a no-risk, all-reward deal for Miami. Shaheen has talent but has not been able to stay on the field much so far in his NFL career. If healthy, he will probably line up as the Dolphins' No. 2 tight end behind Mike Gesicki.
What does it give the Chicago Bears
The Bears have a plethora of tight end talent, including veteran Jimmy Graham and 2020 second-round draft pick Cole Kmet. Therefore, they should not miss Shaheen too badly this year. They did not get much in return, though.
Fantasy impact
At this point, Shaheen is nothing more than a speculative fantasy dark horse at the tight end position. He is likely to become more of a blocking option than Gesicki, so fantasy leaguers need not worry about drafting Shaheen in any league format this year.
