GOODWIN GOES TO PHILADELPHIA
The Philadelphia Eagles acquired wide receiver Marquise Goodwin and a sixth-round draft pick in 2020 from the San Francisco 49ers for a sixth-round draft pick in 2020.
What does it give the Philadelphia Eagles
Philadelphia began to address its wide receiver issues by selecting Jalen Reagor in the first round (21st overall) of the draft. They followed that up by adding veteran speedster Goodwin to the mix. With these additions, plus veterans Alshon Jeffery and DeSean Jackson, Philadelphia may now have enough wide receiver help for quarterback Carson Wentz.
What does it give the San Francisco 49ers
The 49ers have been extremely active on the third day of the '20 draft, adding left tackle Trent Williams to replace Joe Staley (who is expected to retire) and subtracting both running back Matt Breida (traded to Miami) and now Goodwin. In return for the veteran deep threat, the Niners swapped sixth-round picks in this year's draft with Philly. Trading Goodwin was expected.
Fantasy impact
Goodwin is a solid deep threat at the NFL level but he will likely play behind Jackson (who offers an identical skill set, only better) with the Eagles. So, at this point it is hard to recommend Goodwin as a fantasy option in 2020. He is basically a dark horse (and a dart throw).
