DUKE JOHNSON JOINS HOUSTON
The Houston Texans acquired running back Duke Johnson from the Cleveland Browns for a conditional fourth-round draft pick in 2020.
What does it give the Houston Texans
This is a good move for Houston, who had precious little depth behind starting running back Lamar Miller heading into 2019. Enter Johnson, who will likely be used in a lot of passing situations as well as serve as Miller's direct backup this season. This trade should also benefit Johnson's NFL career greatly.
What does it give the Cleveland Browns
It was no secret that the Browns had been trying to unload Johnson for some time now, mostly because of the emergence last season of Nick Chubb and the off-season acquisition of Kareem Hunt. Also, Johnson played mostly on passing downs but Cleveland now boasts receivers Odell Beckham Jr. and Jarvis Landry.
Fantasy impact
This trade should help Johnson's fantasy stock immensely, and he now becomes a recommended mid-round selection in several fantasy football league formats. This trade also helps both Chubb and Hunt, while it could hurt Miller's fantasy value slightly.
