PATRIOTS PICK UP O-TACKLE TRENT BROWN

The New England Patriots acquired offensive lineman Trent Brown and a fifth-round draft pick in 2018 from the San Francisco 49ers for a third-round draft pick in 2018.

What does it give the New England Patriots
The Patriots need more help at offensive tackle, so adding Brown at this point makes a lot of sense. Look for Brown to challenge Marcus Cannon at right tackle, as well as new draftee Isaiah Wynn on the left side.

What does it give the San Francisco 49ers
The 49ers drafted Mike McGlinchey in the first round of the 2018 NFL Draft, and the club plans on using him at right tackle this season. Therefore, Brown became expendable. This deal helps both teams.

Fantasy impact
The addition of Brown should help protect Tom Brady, as well as help the Patriots' running game.
