PISTONS PICK UP FONTECCHIO
The Detroit Pistons acquired forward Simone Fontecchio from the Utah Jazz for forward Kevin Knox, guard/forward Gabriele Procida and a future second-round draft pick.
What does it give the Detroit Pistons
Fontecchio is a good, young forward with upside. He is exactly what the bottom-dwelling Pistons need more of. Look for him to see a lot of minutes down the stretch.
What does it give the Utah Jazz
The Jazz were playing Fontecchio as a starter recently, so it is a little bit surprising that they traded him. Knox is a serviceable forward who can play both positions.
Fantasy impact
Fontecchio should be owned in many fantasy leagues if he is not already, since he is likely to be given a long look before the end of 2023-24. Knox does not have much fantasy value, while Procida needs to be signed before gaining any fantasy traction at all.
