McCOLLUM MOVED TO NEW ORLEANS!

The New Orleans Pelicans acquired guard CJ McCollum, forward/center Larry Nance Jr. and guard/forward Tony Snell from the Portland Trail Blazers for guard/forward Josh Hart and guards Tomas Satoransky, Nickeil Alexander-Walker and Didi Louzada, a protected future first-round draft pick and two future second-round draft picks.

What does it give the New Orleans Pelicans
For the Pelicans, this move is a clear indication that they believe they can make the playoffs (and possibly go on a run when they get there). McCollum is a great scoring guard who should instantly make New Orleans better. Nance Jr. is currently sidelined with an injury, while Snell adds wing depth off the bench. If the Pelicans can get power forward Zion Williamson back from injury, watch out!

What does it give the Portland Trail Blazers
The Trail Blazers are clearly in rebuilding mode now, and that statement was never more clear than after dealing McCollum away. Hart and Alexander-Walker are the keys to this deal from a Portland perspective, while the future first-rounder should also help with the rebuild. Satoransky may get a new lease on life as a backup point guard, while Louzada is a dart throw at this point in his NBA career.

Fantasy impact
McCollum will continue to own excellent fantasy value, despite the move from Portland to New Orleans. Both Hart and Alexander-Walker could benefit greatly from the move to the rebuilding Blazers. Also, keep an eye on Satoransky now that he has moved to Portland. Louzada and Nance Jr. don't need to be picked up at this time in most fantasy formats.
