PADRES BRING IN ANOTHER GWYNN

The San Diego Padres acquired outfielder Tony Gwynn Jr. from the Milwaukee Brewers in exchange for outfielder Jody Gerut.

What does it give the San Diego Padres
Gwynn was hitting well in triple-A, but had no chance of returning to Milwaukee. In San Diego, he will come off the bench and get the occasinal start as the fourth outfielder.

What does it give the Milwaukee Brewers
Gerut was playing part-time in San Diego, and he provides a much-needed left-handed bat off the Brewers bench. However, he doesn't figure to see more action in Milwaukee.
