INDIANS REACQUIRE C CHRIS GIMENEZ
The Cleveland Indians acquired catcher Chris Gimenez from the Texas Rangers for cash considerations.
What does it give the Cleveland Guardians
The Indians drafted Gimenez in 2004, so they are quite familiar with him. In fact, this is the 33-year-old veteran's third stint in the Cleveland organization. He'll serve as a backup to Yan Gomes.
What does it give the Texas Rangers
The Rangers recently designated Gimenez for assignment after acquiring fellow backup Bobby Wilson from Detroit. Therefore, they moved him back to the Tribe in exchange for a little cash.
Fantasy impact
There is nothing to see here. Gimenez will mainly serve as a No. 2 catcher in Cleveland.
