MARINERS REACQUIRE DH MORALES
The Seattle Mariners acquired DH/first baseman Kendrys Morales from the Minnesota Twins for pitcher Stephen Pryor.
What does it give the Seattle Mariners
The Mariners decided to bring the switch-hitting Morales back in the fold in their quest to squeeze enough offense out of their lineup to make the postseason. Morales should DH most of the time and bat cleanup behind {P Robinson Cano}. The M's also have {P Corey Hart} and {P Logan Morrison}, who can DH and play first base, so this situation may get interesting.
What does it give the Minnesota Twins
The Twins land a decent reliever in Pryor, who has yet to establish himself in the big leagues but has late-inning potential. He'll start out in the minor leagues but could find his way up to Minny at some point this year. With Morales gone, the Twins might give big Puerto Rican power hitter {P Kennys Vargas} a shot at some point in 2014.
Fantasy impact
Morales may get a bit of a surge moving back to Seattle, but his fantasy value remains largely unchanged. Pryor could see more time in the bigs and should be back on the fantasy radar (albeit as a dark horse). Vargas could eventually be the big winner in this deal.
