RANGERS ADD DEPTH OF ROBERTSON

The Texas Rangers acquired outfielder Daniel Robertson from the San Diego Padres for cash.

What does it give the Texas Rangers
Texas is a little banged up in the outfield at present time, with both left-fielder {P Shin-Soo Choo} and backup {P Jim Adduci} injured. Therefore, Robertson should add a little depth. He's hit for a good average in the minors and adds speed and hustle to the roster. Otherwise, he's a limited talent.

What does it give the San Diego Padres
The Padres already have quite a numbers game going on in their outfield at present time, plus they'll eventually get back left-fielder {P Carlos Quentin} and center-fielder {P Cameron Maybin}. So, Robertson was not needed in the organization any longer. San Diego received some cash in return.

Fantasy impact
Robertson isn't likely to have much fantasy value at this time, since rookie {P Michael Choice} should see most of the action in left field during Choo's absence.
