FITZGERALD DEALT TO THE DODGERS
The Los Angeles Dodgers acquired infielder Tyler Fitzgerald from the Toronto Blue Jays for cash.
What does it give the Los Angeles Dodgers
The Dodgers have several infielders hurt early in the season, so they bring in Fitzgerald to add depth. He has some speed and pop, but will likely fill only a bench role if he gets called up. For now, Fitzgerald will head to the minors, where he has spent the 2026 season up to this point.
What does it give the Toronto Blue Jays
Fitzgerald was with the Blue Jays for only a few weeks, acquired in a similar trade as a depth option. Toronto's roster is getting closer to full health, so they now send Fitzgerald to Los Angeles and do fine getting some cash in return.
Fantasy impact
Fitzgerald's mix of power and speed made him of interest as a fantasy hitter, but he has not been much of a contributor after his breakout 2024 season. He is just trying to get back to the big leagues at this point, so he will remain off the fantasy radar.
